Chapter 2
Callen was in shock at what was staring back at him. “Oh my god!” was all he could say. Everyone heard him and didn’t know what was going on.
“Do you know who she is Callen?” Deeks asked look at him and then back at the video that was playing.
“That son of bitch was right. She is alive.” Sam said with fire in his eyes.
Now everyone was really confused so Hetty who was also in the room and saw the pained look on Callen’s face took over talking.
“What you are all looking at is Brandy Callen. Eric can you tell us how old this is?” Hetty asked him as she watch Sam walk over to Callen who was shaking and trying to keep his pain and angry in check.
“Yea. Let me just look.” Eric said as he was already looking for the date. He was there when Callen and Brandy got married and he was there when Brandy went missing and Callen basically throw his life away trying to find her.
“So if this is Brandy then why are we just now finding her?” Kensi asked not realizing what was going to happen by asking that question.
“What are you asking Kensi? Are you saying that she wanted to be taken and not be found?” Callen asked in a loud voice that was scaring everyone cause they had never heard him talk like that.
“That isn’t what I am saying Callen. I am just trying to understand what is going on. We come in today and get this news that not only are we working on a case that is 4 years dead but that you have a wife that you never told us about.” Kensi said as she tried to get him to see what she was saying.
“Alright stop! This isn’t helping anything.” Sam yelled at everyone.
Callen had it and he stormed out of the room and out of the office all together. Everyone knew what had happened when they heard the door slam shut.
“Well now I think we need to find her. Wouldn’t you say Mr. Hanna?” Hetty asked Sam.
Sam nods his head. “Yes! We need to find her and who took her and before you asked Kensi. Yes she was taking and Callen looked for her for 4 long years which is even longer then the cops did and it was like she had dropped off the face of the earth. Now you are all going to do you what you have to do to find her. Do you all understand?” Sam asked them with a hard edge to his voice.
After Everyone nods their heads Sam turns to Erica and he nods his head. “As soon as I have something I will call you right away.”
Sam nods his head and then leaves the room leaving everyone to watch him go.
“We are looking at this like she wanted to be found but what if she didn’t? I mean she doesn’t look like she is trying to leave there?” Kensi said.
“That is enough Miss Blye! She isn’t trying to leave cause if you would look closer you see that there on her leg would be a chain. That would be way she isn’t trying to leave.” Hetty told her.
Sure enough when you look closer you can see that Brandy is indeed chained up. Kensi actually looked ashamed for saying what she did.
“Look I wasn’t trying to say anything bad about her but Callen isn’t going to be looking at this with the eyes of an NCIS agent but as a husband…” Kensi started to say but Hetty cut her off.
“That is just it Kensi you don’t know her and you most differently don’t know what his and Brandy’s marriage was like the short 6 moths that they had before she was taking. She was the only one besides Sam and his family that Callen would have giving his life for and she was the only one who would get him to take care of himself.” Hetty told her and Kensi just looks at her.
Hetty seeing that Kensi wasn’t going to say anything this time continued. “I want this to be top case. Think of it as another NCIS agent out there. You are too do what you have to do to find her and get her back. I am going to go talk to Director Vance and see what he can do to help us. Eric, Let me know after you call Sam with what you got.” Hetty said and Eric’s nods his head.
After Hetty is gone Eric won’t even look at Kensi. “Come on Eric you can see what I was saying can’t you?”
Eric looks at Kensi with fire in his eyes. “No Kensi, I can’t see where you are coming from. What I see is an innocent woman who was taken 4 years ago and has been chained up since then in a dark basement the entire time. What I see is Callen having to live life as if his wife was dead. Now if you don’t mind I would like to get back to work and see what I can do to help Callen find her.” Eric said and then he turned back to the computer.
Kensi knew she had to leave so she and Deeks did just that. “I wasn’t trying to hurt anyone in there I just didn’t want everyone to get their hopes up.” Kensi said as she sat down at her desk.
“You might have had good intents Kensi but that wasn’t the time to bring it up and it wasn’t the time to try and make everyone think she wanted this. You saw the samething I was looking at and what I saw was a scared and most likely abused women who for all we know has been trying for 4 long years to get someone to help her. You need to think before you saw what you are thinking when it comes to this case cause Callen is not going to be the best at controlling his angry right now.” Deeks said as he went to see Hetty to see if she had a copy of Brandy’s file he can look at.
